“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
(Ephesians 2:8-10)
There is an eternal difference between knowing “about” God and KNOWING God biblically… It is the difference between fact-filled religion and faithful relationship. More to the point, it comes down to whether or not you KNOW Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Better stated, the question is: “Are you KNOWN by Jesus as one of His loving and faithful followers?” “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I (Jesus) will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ (Matthew 7:21-23)
This is the eternal line of distinction… “Jesus said ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ 7 Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’” (John 3:3,7)
